Knowledge is not enough … you must take action!

Knowledge without action is nothing. I am a strong abdicate for constant and continuos learning, but when all you do is read tons of books or you spend a fortune going to many seminars, but you fail to take action and implement the new knowledge you acquire, you are literally just wasting time (and money).

It is important to keep growing, and one way you achieve this is by studying, reading and learning continuously. But the key is that you must take action and implement those new concepts and ideas.

Don’t be a “book smart“. Be a “doer“.

Enjoy!

  1. A very timely and wise message, Ivan. Thank you.

    Best, Robin 🙂

  2. Thanks Robin, your comments are always highly appreciated!

  3. I very much agree to that! Applying the knowledge in every-day life/work, implementation and testing if something work or not.
I think that for me the problem is that sometimes I don’t know how to start.

    • Hi Klaudia,

Thank you for your comment. I think that in situations when it is unclear how to start, the best is to define what is the outcome that you are looking for and then work-out what steps / actions are required for you to do in order to achieve that outcome. Once you breakdown the desired outcome into smaller actions (it may be creating a list, or making a phone call or sending an email, or searching particular information, etc), then you start to create momentum. The hardest part is always that first step, then it just flows.

      Have a great day!

      Ivan

  4. Ivan – thank you a lot.
I am creating a marketing strategy right now — and I started exactly from that point 🙂 “what is the outcome ?”
